Today, most vehicles on have an onboard computer system, which constantly monitors your driving. In the event that you are involved in a traffic collision, this computer can be imaged and its data used to prove what you were doing when the collision occurred. Retrieved data can include, but is not necessarily limited to: speed, braking, steering input, seat belt status, acceleration %, whether anything was wrong with your vehicle (fault codes), and even the air pressure in your tires.
