To full understand the higher level of knowledge, experience, skills, and physical abilities than that required to drive a non-commercial vehicle, I personally just got my commercial vehicle license for the SRI truck. In order to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), an applicant must pass both skills and knowledge testing geared to these higher standards. And, CDL holders are held to a higher standard when operating any type of motor vehicle on public roads. Serious traffic violations committed by a CDL holder can affect their ability to maintain their CDL certification.

It’s good to know that people with CDL’s are held to higher standards on the road. My brother is wanting to become a commercial truck driver. I’ll let him know that traffic violations could affect him keeping a CDL license.
