SRI has maintained a fleet of drones since 2012 and utilizes drone technology to document evidence for crime scene reconstruction, traffic accident reconstruction and search and rescue operations.
This past week, SRI was invited to present and exhibit at the USA Drone Port Unmanned Aerial Services Conference at Hazard Community and Technical College in Hazard, Kentucky. Other speakers included Governor Matt Bevin, State Representative Chris Fugate, Congressman Hal Rogers and US Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chow.
Joey Stidham and Jeremy Woods presented on drones’ logistics, flying tactics, techniques and software used for traffic collision reconstruction, crime scene reconstruction and investigations. Our team also discussed the responsibilities that accompany drone deployment and the associated technology.
SRI’s work with drones is vital technology in our communities. The usage of drones today has evolved significantly over the past 10 years. Drone application can enhance traffic accident reconstruction and investigative field work, especially in the accuracy and reality of how our work appears in court. Drone footage for search and rescue operations gives aerial visibility for the area under investigation. With special Flir cameras, rescue workers can even see at night.
We would like to thank the USA Drone Port, HCTC for inviting SRI to present and exhibit during this event. We would like to also graciously recognize all of the first responders for all they do for us each and every day.
SRI is proud to announce our partnership with Vivid Aerial R/C Cars & Advanced Drones/Multirotors to be our exclusive provider and service point for our fleet, keeping SRI on the forefront of this incredible technology.
