SRI was recently hired in a nursing home abuse/neglect case where a family’s loved one was consistently malnourished and dirty when the family visited. By placing a radio containing a video camera and DVR to record all movement in the loved one’s room, SRI was able to prove that the nursing home was coming into the room just one time a day for a feeding and changing of the bed linens. Bed ridden, the loved one was unable to use the bathroom other than in her bed.
When confronted with this evidence, the nursing home administration agreed to a settlement without a lawsuit. This nursing home has now been sanctioned by the state.
